"I want to be able to continue to work, to pull from good and ghastly text, to offer these to people, and to present them in ways that are lovely and exacting.
—Jenny Holzer

Happy birthday to Jenny Holzer, our current 100 Artists featured artist. Holzer’s large-scale works consist of powerful projectors, LED lights, reflection, and above all, text. Her usage of poetry, mottoes, and quotations in combination with public exposure—such as buildings and rivers—allow her to provoke discussion between the viewers.

Seen here is an installation view of the artist’s work, Installation for Neue Nationalgalerie (2001), at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin. This scene is featured in the Art in the Twenty-First Century Season 4 episode, Protest (2007).
